Student Personal information. We do not share your personal information with others except as indicated below. We may share personal information with:

  1. Your High School Counselor: We may share your personal information, which may include your name and contact information (including email address) with your high school counselor who is responsible for your search of a future college or university in which you may attend. Additionally, at your request, your guidance counselor may update or change your information on If you initially enter your information into useRubin, you may only delete later if you choose. Your guidance counselor will make any additional changes to your profile.
  2. College Recruiters: College recruiters will be able to see your generic information like your grades on useRubin but not any of your contact information. When a college or university recruiter wishes to contact you, he/she will contact your guidance counselor for your contact information. Your contact information is completely hidden until you and your guidance counselor releases it to the college or university. A recruiter may then contact you with your counselor’s approval.

High School Counselor Personal / Institution information. We do not share your personal information with others except as indicated below.

  1. Your High School Administration: We may share your personal information, which may include your name and contact information (including email address) with your high school administration. Additionally, we maintain your high school information for payment processing.
  2. University/College Recruiter: When a recruiter is interested in discussing one of your students that is a member of, he or she will contact you directly to discuss the student’s credentials. In your discretion, and with the permission of the student, you may then release the student’s information to the recruiter so he/she may contact the school directly.

University/College Recruiter Personal/Institution information. We do not share your personal or institutional information with others except as indicated below.

  1. Your Institution’s Administration: We may share your personal information, which may include your name and contact information (including email address) with your institution’s administration. Additionally, we maintain your institution information for invoice processing.

Third-party websites

There are a number of places on our website where you may click on a link to access other websites that do not operate under this Privacy Policy. For example, if you click on an advertisement or a link to a university on our website, you may be taken to a website that we do not control. These third-party websites may independently solicit and collect information, including personal information, from you. How you can access your information

Counselors and Recruiters with an online membership, have the ability to review and update your personal information online by logging into your account and clicking on your account settings. Students may initially enter their information, but their high school counselor must verify that information before it is active on the useRubin system. More information about how to contact us is provided below. If you have an online account with us, you also may close your account at any time by visiting the "Account Settings" page for your account. After you close your account, you will not be able to sign in to our website or access any of your personal information If you close your account, we may still retain certain information associated with your account for analytical purposes and recordkeeping integrity, as well as to prevent fraud, collect any fees owed, enforce our terms and conditions, take actions we deem necessary to protect the integrity of our website or our users, or take other actions otherwise permitted by law. In addition, if certain information has already been provided to third parties as described in this Privacy Policy, retention of that information will be subject to those third parties' policies.

We provide an area on our website where you post information about yourself or upload content such as photographs. Such postings are governed by our Terms of Use. Student’s private information will be viewed by your school guidance counselor who will “verify” your identity on the system. University Recruiters will communicate with your guidance counselor. Your guidance counselor will then refer your information to a university recruiter who may contact you concerning his or her institution.

Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

Visiting our websites from outside the United States

This Privacy Policy is intended to cover collection of information on our website from individuals residing in the United States. If you are visiting our website from outside the United States, please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States where our servers are located and our central database is operated.
